Less Gain Stage
Gain, polarity and a measured readout for setting levels.
Product pageDownloadMixLess
Five plugins for the mix: a saturator, a meter, a compressor, a limiter and a gain stage. Every number on these pages comes from a test or a measurement on the shipping build.
Less Tube
Triode leads with the second harmonic and thickens before it distorts. Pentode is symmetric, so the odd harmonics carry the edge. Vari-Mu gives way as the signal pushes. Iron is the output transformer on its own, weight in the lows.
On the deck
The transfer curve is the live input to output shape, and the bars measure harmonics 2 through 8 against the fundamental. Both screens on the model are live: they follow the drive you set.

TRANSFER
Input on the horizontal, output on the vertical. The dotted diagonal is the untouched signal.
HARMONICS
Read from the current curve with a 1 kHz sine at minus 6 dBFS.
Turn DRIVE and watch the valve warm. The loop runs through a browser approximation of the four characters; the measured numbers on the product page come from the shipping build.
The free tools
Each one does one job with the picture on screen: the curve, the bars, the needle. Manuals and measured specifications sit on every product page.
Less Tube
Choose a model and the valve in the socket changes. Drag the unit to see it from any side; the bars show the harmonic fingerprint of the character you picked.

Loudness, true peak, correlation and spectrum, with streaming and broadcast targets plus MixLess club and festival presets.

A clean compressor with the transfer curve and gain reduction on one screen.

A brickwall limiter with a true peak ceiling, measured between samples.

Valve saturation with four models, built as a device: the valve in its socket, a VALVE meter, the transfer curve and the live harmonic fingerprint.
Engineering
Every release passes 600 automated tests, Apple's auval, and pluginval at its maximum strictness, on both platforms. A claim that appears on these pages has a test or a measurement behind it.
Latency figures are exact sample counts reported to the host. Alias suppression, filter flatness and ceiling behaviour are measured on the shipping binaries, and the specifications below quote those measurements.
We build these tools for people who mix, and the free ones are our contribution to that community. The engineering behind them is the same engineering our paid tools will get.
Download
Four of the plugins are free and stay free; Less Tube is paid. Sign in with your email and the buttons download. Download counts are public. macOS installers are notarised packages, Windows installers are signed.
